As many of you in this small town have probably already heard, Serenity Widell is once again facing a battle most of us can’t imagine. Serenity is the daughter of Nikki Pittman and Alex Pittman. Here is their story.

At just 16 years old, Serenity is facing a fight no one her age should ever have to endure.

Six months ago, she underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her kidney. True to who she is—determined, strong-willed, and a little feisty—Serenity pushed through that chapter with courage and grit. But now, she’s been given heartbreaking news: her renal cell carcinoma has progressed and is now affecting her lungs and liver, with concerns it may have spread to her brain.

Despite everything, Serenity continues to show incredible strength. She’s still that same spirited young girl, fighting with everything she has—but this battle is bigger than anyone should have to face alone.
