Help Serena with Her Dental Procedures

Hi,

My name is Serena. I came to Canada 14 years ago to escape family abuse of my father’s bigamy.

Since I have landed in the country, I have experienced the freedom I was running away from home for.

For the 14 years, in order to stay in Canada legally, I kept extending my visa. I am currently on a study permit, and attending college to pursue Traditional Chinese Medicine, where my passion lies. I am hopeful to use the knowledge I learn in the program to help many people with their health and well-being once I succeed in obtaining the license.

Currently, I have encountered an urgent situation I am unable to resolve with my effort alone.

Under the regulations of CIC, as an international students, I am permitted to work limited hours (20 hrs / wk) during school terms. With the limited amount of hours I am permitted to work, my earning is just enough to cover my basic daily expenses. While I am grateful to have a safe place to live and enough to buy food, my earning leaves me with very limited to no surplus. Because of my financial constraints, I have not been able to afford to see a dentist for the past 11 years.

Such circumstance has left me with some severe dental conditions that require urgent care. For a proper restoration, major procedures including implants and root canal have been prescribed.

I am grateful that the dental clinic has graciously offered a slight discount to make the cost of the treatment less insurmountable; however, the discounted price remains beyond my current means to afford.

This has brought me to the humble realization that I need the help from others to overcome this challenge. I am reaching out through Go Fund Me to seek the financial support necessary to make it possible to receive the timely treatment to restore my dental health.
