I am beyond tragically sad to inform that My beautiful mother Gwen Shannon passed away ,her life began at 1/30/62 and ended 4/20/25 she was in the hospital for 10 short days and 8 surgeries later her body to weak to fight the infection passed. Far too young to pass . A nightmare of days and nights in the intensive care unit at Vcmc . I feel there was an option to amputate at an earlier point after 2 surgeries that would have saved her life . She being my only parent that raised me on her own and I her only child am at a complete losss . She had very few belongings and they county told me if I claim I don’t have enough money to cremate her then they will sell her only belongings to pay for her cremation . The cremation is 1200 to 1400 tge cheapest I could find I want to give my mom a proper service and at least be able to keep the little she has . I’m devastated at this time I cannot receive her dealth certificate . I can’t even see my life without her . My son doesn’t even know yet because he’s incarcerated and about 2 yrs ago he was incarcerated and found out his father passed away from Xanax from Mexico that were laced with fentanyl. He had to grieve alone and he the Chaplin never went to see him after several calls for him to do so . So my son fought with every person they put in his cell eventually getting a battery charge . He had no way to express his pain in a horrible place like that . His Nana was the closest person besides myself the only person who loved him like I do and now our small family just got smaller and I’m devastated. Please if there is anything even 5/10$ it would help me . If it’s more I appreciate your charity I just don’t want to sell the little things I have of my moms . Not that they would be worth much. She had a hard life thank u for reading this far please help me help her Serena
