Help Serana Get the Medical Care She Needs
Donation protected
A few months back, I responded to a gentleman who was selling his car, the only thing he felt had enough value, to cover surgery for his beloved cat, Serana. He is disabled and on a very limited income from SSDI. At that time, I offered to assist him in taking his cat to Gilbert for care. He declined because he didn't know me and was worried about what might happen to his baby. I understand how important and special our fur kids are and promptly sent my husband to purchase his car to ensure he'd be able to cover the medical bills. Serana had surgery for pyometra a few days later. Her dad spent approximately $700 on that surgery.
Two weeks ago, Serana's dad reached out to me again. She was running a fever and vomiting, and he was scared. I took them to the vet the next morning. Dr. Eubanks felt Serana had eaten something that she shouldn't have. He treated her, and I covered that bill to make sure Serana's dad didn't have to hand over the very last of his money.
Yesterday, Serana made a trip back to Samaritan Veterinary Center. She was lethargic and wheezing. X-rays and an exam showed she had pneumonia. She was hospitalized overnight and returned to her owner today (attached invoices for care received today). Dr. Eubanks would like to run some additional tests and bloodwork to determine if there are additional underlying conditions that may be causing the repeated illnesses.
Serana's dad's only income is SSDI (Social Security Disability Income). The cost for her most recent care is nearing what he receives in one month. I have already committed to paying the cost to have four additional cats at his residence spayed/neutered and vetted next week, so I cannot afford to help him with the unexpected expense. Donations can be made through the GoFundMe or directly to Samaritan Veterinary Center at [phone redacted] Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm (noon). Any funds received through the GoFundMe will be paid directly to Samaritan. Thank you so much for helping Serana.
Update: KTN will be happy to provide a receipt for a tax deductible donation made of $100 or more.
