Sepi's Senior Year: The Final Push to Graduation
Today, I reach out with a heavy heart but a clear goal: to keep my 17-year-old brother, Sepi, in high school and away from the war raging back in our home country. Due to last year's job loss, economic collapse in our home country, and the ongoing war, we are facing a financial gap we cannot bridge alone. In the last three months, 137 of you joined hands to raise $15,000, helping us cover the tuition for Sepi's junior year. But as the war we feared has now become a reality and all communication with our parents has been severed, we are facing a final, even more desperate hurdle.
The Backstory
Sepi is a high-achieving international student at the Cambridge School of Weston with a passion for architecture and interior design—a dream he has worked tirelessly to pursue. Until recently, we had a stable "Plan A": I worked full-time to support him, and our parents contributed everything they could from back home. That plan has now completely collapsed.
- I lost my full-time position: While I have since secured a part-time job at a supportive company, I can barely cover my own costs of living.
- The Financial Crisis: My parents' savings were decimated by a currency crash, and they can no longer send funds.
The Miracle That Is You
Because of your incredible generosity, Sepi didn't just stay in school—he excelled. Your donations directly saved his education and his safety. He is finishing his junior year with a near-perfect academic record and is currently applying for competitive design programs to further his career.
War—The Continued Crisis
We are now in a state of total crisis. The war that was a nightmare when we started this fundraiser is now our catastrophic reality:
- Total Silence: The country's infrastructure is in ruins, and we have lost all contact with our parents for weeks as internet and phone access were severed.
- No Way Back: With the military forcibly recruiting children as young as 12, there is no safe path for Sepi to return home.
To keep my brother safe and out of a war zone, we need every bit of help we can get.
The Finish Line
We must raise $12,000 by the end of May to secure Sepi's enrollment for his senior year. This is the final year of high school fundraising; once he graduates, he will transition to college-level financial aid and loans.
How you can help us finish what we started:
- Give what you can: Whether it is $25, $50, or $100, every gift counts toward his tuition.
- Share this page and ask one person to pass it on. Your network may include someone who wants to help a kid finish high school safely.
