I received an email about an opportunity that turned out to be too good to be true, and in a moment of uncertainty, I responded. The person on the other end deposited money into my account using an electronic check and told me it was a trial deposit. When the money showed up in my account, they asked me to send it back, assuring me it was just part of the process.

Unfortunately, the check they deposited was fraudulent. After I sent the money back, my bank informed me that the deposit was fake, and now I am left in the hole.
