Senior Dog Sanctuary & Hospice Needs Urgent Help Vet Cost's

Donation protected
My name is Heather and my husbands nane is Brandon and we are The Twelve Tail's Senior Dog Home. A privately ran sanctuary where we rescue and provide lifelong and end of life care for senior, ill and special needs dog's! Our mission began twenty year's ago in 2004 and it's been our lifes mission ever since! They mean the world to us! We've paid out hundred's of thousand's of dollars providing their medical care and food alone and we can not continue our mission without your help.

We've been blessed to save more than fifty dog's with more than thirty living their lives out with us and several cat's! And those numbers don't include the numerous others we saved before we married and bought the home that allowed us to truly bring our mission into fruition.

Our goal with our mission was to be entirely self funded. We used the entirety of our life savings and invested every dollar of our personal income into funding our mission. After fifteen year's when that no longer was enough to keep up with their needs we then maxed our credit and now have over $100,000 in credit debt. We then proceed to sell anything we had of value to fulfill the promise we made to the the senior's, ill and special needs dog's in our care. We managed soly on self funding for fifteen year's until we realized we'd no longer be able to continue without help and that led to us creating our first fundraiser. Having to rely mostly on the help of others we realized that we'd no longer be able to take in new dog's so our focus became to fulfill the promise we'd made to the current seniors in our care which at the time was fifteen. Our greatest hope is that some day we'll once again be able to open our doors to more senior, ill and special needs dog's.

We humbly ask if you'd consider donating towards veterinary expenses for the remaining seniors in our care. Without your kindness and support we won't be able to fulfill our mission and keep the promise we made to each of them. Every penny donated goes towards their care and all invoice's are posted and available upon request. We're greatly ashamed we've found ourselves in need of help as it was never our intention to have to as for help.

We've sadly lost seventeen in the past several year's. We only have two dog's and one cat currently in our care due to financial reasons.
Dink, Lilly and Kitty MaowMa.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to make it possible for us to continue covering any veterinary care, rx medication's and rx supplement's needed. On average they've cost us a minimum of $20,000 to $30,000 per year.
Despite any illness they're thriving and living their very best live's.

Your support today ensures that they're able to receive any critical medical care that's needed. And to hopefully allow us to once again reopen our home to senior and special need's dog's in need.

All donation's go 100% towards veterinary care, medication's, rx supplement's and their veterinary reccomended food.

We humbly ask if you'd consider helping. A small donation or share of their campaign is so very much appreciated.

We use several veterinary offices depending on their needs and the illnesses/cancer's being treated. Listed below are the offices we use currently.

Vet invoice's/estimates 2023

Beginning in 2022 I've been so busy being a primary caregiver to my grandmother who raised me with alzheimer's disease and other medical issues that I've gotten behind posting invoices inside the campaign but I have included every single veterinary invoice in with my updates in the update section but haven't posted any invoice's for medication, food and supplement's due to limited time. I have to edit each invoice to size them to fit Go Fund Me allowed photo size and I just haven't had time to get them all done. You can visit our X formerly Twitter @ TheTwelveTails and most invoices have been posted there. Just search the word invoice, vet, medication, supplement or food on our page. My grandmother just entered hospice care at home and myself and my grandfather are still her full time caregivers but he has end stage COPD and was recently (2024) diagnosed with pancreatic cancer so he can't help much anymore and has began needing help himself which I also provide. I'll try to catch up by posting as many veterinary invoice's here inside the campaign as soon as possible. I apologize. Feel free to contact me and I can provide year's worth to you personally.
Thank you again for your kindness!

Dink & Lilly's Story - 2025 Rescue

On February 23rd the day our last remaining senior and my soul dog Dingo passed due to three rare cancer's we were contacted about rescuing two puppies from a heartbreaking backyard breeding situation—Dinks and Lilly—a purebred Chihuahua and a purebred smooth coat Jack Russell Terrier. No one was stepping up for them so they'd have to go into a public kill shelter and we just couldn't allow that to happen so despite it being one of our worst day's and having no rescue fund's remaining we made the three hour round trip that evening to pick them up and had them vetted next day.
Unlike our normal of placing the adoptable dogs we rescue in loving forever homes, this time we went against the grain and chose to keep them—not because they fit neatly within the nature of our original mission, but because our hearts desperately needed a small spark of joy, a moment of healing in the midst of such grief.

Since arriving every moment has been a brand-new experience for Dink and Lilly—both exciting and frightening. They had never stepped outside their confinement before. The feel of grass under their feet, fresh air, soft beds, toys, gentle hands, and kind voices—it’s all new. And watching them slowly learn to trust, play, and simply be dogs is healing something in us, too.
