Hello family and friends,
My name is Virgil Moore, II. I am a 16 year-old violinist from Lynchburg, VA and I have been playing the violin for seven years. Since beginning, I developed a passion for playing. In fact, I'd like to pursue violin performance as both a college major, and a profession.
Throughout the year I play with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, the Lynchburg Symphony Youth Orchestra, and several local ensembles. I am excited to announce that I auditioned for, and received acceptance into, the Meadowmount School of Music to study with Ivan Zenaty. This prestigious, 7-week summer school takes place in upstate New York, and has a solo and chamber music focus. Meadowmount is dedicated to training the musicians of the next generation. It has served as the training ground of luminaries such as Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, and Joshua Bell. Acceptance into this competitive summer program presents a special opportunity for me to learn from great teachers and comes at a critical period, as my focus is shifting to preparing for my college auditions. I’m looking forward to attending Meadowmount this summer, and growing and progressing as a musician.
The total cost to attend is $7,500. Any donation you can give to help towards my goal of raising $5,500 would not only be greatly appreciated, but will get me one step closer to realizing my dream.
