The Trumbull Dragons U11 boys soccer team have been invited to participate and represent the United States of America in the 16th International Football Tournament, which is being held in the island of São Miguel, Azores.
This soccer tournament is organized by the Clube União Micaelense and last year, it hosted 24 teams from 8 countries! So far teams from across Portugal, Malta, USA, Canary Islands and others are scheduled to participate in this year’s tournament, which will take place on March 27-30th, 2024. This is a big deal because as you know, European boys are born with soccer balls in their hands (er, feet). This is a great challenge and a great opportunity for the Trumbull Dragons.
To make this a reality, we need your help! Please donate today to help send the boys to the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores.
The Trumbull Dragons team is comprised of thirteen 10 and 11 year old boys who live in the town of Trumbull, CT. Most of these boys have been playing together since 2020 for their town team, Trumbull United. Most notably, this past season, the Dragons successfully played a year up and ended their Fall and Spring seasons first in their division!
Not only will the Dragons be traveling to the Azores in March, but they will also be accompanied by their families, who will be cheering them on from the stands in Ponta Delgada.
The Dragons are committed to representing their town of Trumbull and country with pride in Ponta Delgada, the capital of youth soccer in the Azores.
The Dragons would appreciate your help to cover the travel expenses they and their families will incur in order to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity. All donations, big or small, will help make this trip possible and memorable.
Your donation will go directly to offsetting the Dragons travel costs, which include: • Airfare • Hotels • Team Meals • Uniforms, practice jerseys and warm-ups
