Help Send the Burning Skirts to Nationals!

The Burning Skirts are a competitive club women’s frisbee team at the University of California Santa Barbara. Four years ago, the Skirts qualified for Nationals on universe point in the game to go after failing to qualify for several years, and ended up tied for 17th. Our program has continued to build ever since, ending with a quarter-finals appearance at Nationals in 2019 and a semi-finals appearance in 2021. This year we’re looking to make another run for the final in the Spring series, and we need your help to make it happen.

Earlier this season we won the Santa Barbara Invite, and a few weeks later defeated UCSD in the finals to win the Presidents’ Day Invite. The Skirts rounded out the regular season with a third place finish at Stanford Invite, and continued to dominate the southwest women’s division with a first place finish at SoCal Sectionals. Two weeks later at Regionals we came back to win a tight game against UC Davis to qualify for Nationals, and ended up finishing first with another win over UCSD in the finals.

 

Unfortunately, tournaments are expensive (especially when they’re halfway across the country), and the costs of Nationals have been stacking up. As such, we are hoping to fundraise as much as possible to help mitigate the added costs facing our players. Any contribution you can make to support our Nationals campaign is immensely appreciated and will go a long way! We’re calling on anyone who is passionate about supporting women in sport, the ultimate community, and this talented group of frisbee players to help us continue our triumphant season.
