Help Send Tech High Combat Robotics Team to NRL Nationals

Tax deductible
We are the Technology High School student-led robotics team of 30 dedicated, intelligent people striving to learn and apply STEM-related skills in a competitive environment. Our team was founded in Rohnert Park California in 2001 as a FIRST robotics team but has regrouped as a combat robotics team after the pandemic. The goal in combat robotics is to design and build robots to strategically damage or disable the opponent robot in 1v1 tournament style matches. Since 2023, we have competed annually in the NRL Sacramento Bot Battles against other college and high school teams.

As of this year, our team has made huge progress increasing inclusivity by launching an educational division, allowing anyone to participate regardless of skill level. Our educational robotics program for new or inexperienced members teaches the basics of combat robotics through building 1lb 3D-printed robots with the guidance of our more experienced members. We had 5 educational teams this year each with their own 1lb bot that they competed at Sacramento Bot Battles in the plastic 1lb category. Overall they did very well with one of our teams winning 1st place!

Our more experienced members participate in our technical division, building 15lb robots. Our debut robot, Free Hugs, placed 7th out of 16 teams and won the design award. This year, we built 2 entirely new robots utilizing what we learned from the successes and failures of Free Hugs. Angular Aggression, our new beater bar style robot won 2nd place, taking down some of the most destructive bots and even a UC Berkeley team. Rev 3, our new horizontal spinner, placed 4th out of the 16 teams and got the most destructive award. The success of our new robots qualified both of them for Nationals, being held in Springfield Ohio on May 10th where 50 of the top high school teams will battle for the National Robotics League Championship title!

We are seeking funding for air fares, hotel rooms, spare parts, upgrades, and travel cases. If you are able to do so, please donate to make our dream of going to Nationals possible.
