Friendly, persistent, and hardworking I am TaBria Donkor. I am the second born of five children whose mom moved from New Jersey to North Carolina when I was 6. She wanted a better life for herself and us. I am now 18 years old and a Senior at Millbrook High School. I am so grateful for my mother's decision because it has led me to make great marks for my future. Fall 2017 I plan to attend North Carolina A&T to major in Journalism & Mass Communications. I have always had a passion for entertainment. My persistence and hard work will lead me there. Gaining knowledge from likeminded individuals in college will be a beautiful beginning.
The cost of attendance for one year is about $19,000 at NC A&T. I need extra help in paying for college because being raised in a single family household of six is very hard for my mother financially. I would be the first of my immediate family to complete and graduate from college but surely not the last. I'm sure it is not going to be easy for me to pay for books, room & board, as well as tuition without the help of a village. My financial aid package will not be enough to cover the school expenses. Adding to the struggle I recently was laid off from my job with no warning that the business was closing. Saving up for school has been paused due to this unexpected occurrence.
Tuition to be exact is 18,899. I was only awarded 10,788 for my freshman year! College is a must! Your help is desperately needed!
