Aloha,
We are a group of 10 high school students, 9th-12th graders, 2 teachers, and 1 chaperone from Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science Public Charter School located in the rural lower portion of the Puna district on the Big Island of Hawai'i. We are fundraising to secure a five-day service trip to the protected Hawaiian island of Kaho'olawe under Protect Kaho'olawe 'Ohana (please see links).

This is a rare opportunity, which was offered to our school group only a week ago. The trip is scheduled for September 20th-24th and our group is in desperate need of funding. The cost of airfare, boat and vehicle transport, lodging, and food is approximately $450 per participant. In order to secure the trip, we need to purchase our air flight tickets as soon as possible.

This is an amazing service and educational opportunity for all of us.
We will practice and model environmental stewardship, cultural engagement and awareness, collaboration, and will return home as student and teacher leaders and share out our experiences and learning to our school and greater community.
