Help Send Semaje & Olivia to the AAU Track & Field Nationals!

Representing the Waterloo Wind Track and Field Club | Houston, TX | July 27 – August 2, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that two incredible young athletes from our club, Semaje Mays (age 11) and Olivia Daniel (age 9), have officially qualified for the 2025 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas!

Meet Semaje:

Semaje’s journey to the track is nothing short of inspiring. Born severely ill, he spent his early days in the NICU, unable to even be held by his mother. Later diagnosed with asthma, running—let alone racing—seemed impossible.

But Semaje is a fighter. As one of our founding athletes, he began his journey struggling just to finish a race. Today, through perseverance, heart, and relentless training, he has become one of our club’s top sprinters—qualifying for Nationals for the second season, this time in the 200m dash!

Meet Olivia:

This is Olivia’s very first track season, and what a debut it’s been! At just 9 years old, Olivia competed in the 10-year-old division—and still managed to qualify for Nationals in the 100m dash. She is now the second athlete in our club’s history to reach this level!

Her determination, hard work, and natural speed have made her one to watch—and we can’t wait to see her shine in Houston!

Why We Need Your Help:

Both Semaje and Olivia earned 5th place at Regionals, securing their spots at Nationals. But getting there comes with significant costs—travel, lodging, food, uniforms, and entry fees for the week-long event.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these young athletes to compete on a national stage against the best in the country—and we want to make sure nothing stands in their way.
