Seeds of Wonder — Sending Books and Resources to African Schools

Hello friends, family, and kind supporters,

I’m Lee Anne Fowlds, a teacher currently based in the UK — but my heart and roots are firmly in Africa. Having spent many years teaching in South Africa and Uganda, I’ve seen first-hand how a single box of books can transform a classroom, spark imagination, and fill a school with joy.

Through my small personal project, Seeds of Wonder, I collect donated books and educational resources from UK schools — storybooks, early learning materials, art supplies, and games that are no longer being used but still have so much life left in them. These donations are carefully sorted, repacked, and sent to schools and community projects in Africa where resources are often limited but the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm are endless.

I personally handle everything — from reaching out to UK schools, collecting and sorting donations, packing the boxes, and coordinating their delivery to schools in Africa. I keep the project as eco-friendly as possible, using recycled packaging and upcycling materials wherever I can.

The only cost I need help with is shipping.

Sending boxes overseas can be expensive, and this is where your support makes a real difference.

Your donation directly decides how many boxes I can send — the more funds raised, the more “seeds of wonder” can reach eager young learners. I’ll share updates, photos, and even tracking details so you can follow each shipment’s journey and see the smiles you’ve helped create.
