Help Send School of Rock Oak Park to Lisbon!

On behalf of the School of Rock Oak Park Show Team, we are asking for help covering the travel costs associated with sending the team to play on one of the two main stages at the Rock in Rio - Lisboa music festival this summer in Lisbon, Portugal (https://rockinriolisboa.pt).

Acceptance into this global festival is highly competitive!! Only 48 bands are accepted globally. Fifteen members of the Show Team band will play alongside groups from Brazil, Spain, Portugal and more. The festival draws huge crowds -- since its inception in 1985, 10 million people have attended the festival! It's a huge honor for our team to be given this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Oak Park School of Rock just learned of its acceptance to the festival a few weeks ago and we only have a few months to raise enough funds to make sure that all the kids can participate. The team members are responsible for paying their own way to Portugal and for their ground expenses once they are there. As you can imagine, a trip of this nature is expensive and it would be disappointing for any of the kids to have to stay home because of the cost. The funds raised here and through our other efforts will be used to ensure that the team members most in need of financial assistance can go on the trip.

Needless to say, the kids are beyond excited to play on the biggest stage of their lives! They are all top notch musicians and work hard every day to perform at the highest level. Music has already given these teens so many life-changing opportunities. Help make their dream of rocking one of the world’s largest stages come true!!
