Help send Sarah Johnson to NYC

Hey! My name is Sarah Johnson, and I am a rising senior at S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. I am very active in my school and community. I am involved in my school’s National Honor Society and my church's Oneighty Student Ministry. However, anyone that knows me knows that my biggest passion is music. I am the drum major of the Pride of the Raiders at Rider for the third year, and I play flute in wind ensemble and Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. I am also planning to major in music education after high school. Additionally, I teach flute lessons at Wichita Falls Music Academy. I have received many musical accolades such as region band placement, area qualification, and state advancement in solo performance. Most recently, and most exciting-

 

I have been selected to march in the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. I will march among 185 musicians from all across the country in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. To add to the excitement, I will do so alongside my childhood best friend and fellow band officer, Jordan Tolleson. I am beyond excited to represent my band all the way in NYC, as well as the city and people that have built me up.

 

Now, such an exciting experience comes with a price. I will need to pay a room & board fee as well as plane tickets to get me there. I am so incredibly honored and excited to represent Wichita Falls and the state of Texas, but I need a little bit of help. This is where you come in.
