Sabercats have qualified for the FRC World Champs in Houston, TX! And they need your help to make it there!

Sabercat Robotics #4146 is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team, which aims to combine the excitement of sports with the rigor of science and technology. The FIRST website defines FRC as: “Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team ‘brand,’ hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get.”

Sabercat Robotics is based out of Saguaro High School. They are composed of 37 students, with guidance from 8 mentors. This year the students spent over 1.200 hours volunteering in their community.

At the 2024 Arizona Valley Regional, the Sabercats took home The Impact Award. The Impact Award (formerly the Chairman’s Award) is the most prestigious award at FIRST. It honors a team that emulates the values and mission of FIRST and recognizes a team’s outreach endeavors over a sustained period. The winning team is then invited to the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX to compete against other winning teams from across the World, for the FIRST World Championships Impact Award.

The Sabercats were recognized for their continued growth of Sisters in STEM, their involvement with Go Baby Go, their extended involvement with FIRST LEGO League, and their newest educational initiative Melody Makers. The Sabercats as a team prioritize improving their community, and spreading STEM Education to everyone!
