Hi! We’re Rice Rasikas, Rice University’s South Asian Classical Dance Team. This year we’ve worked hard to get into competitions across the country. But, we need your help to make it happen, as this is the first fully in-person competition season since 2019 and costs are far higher.

As classical dancers, Rice Rasikas has given us a platform to continue our passion in college. We’ve been able to further our love of storytelling and our connection to our culture. We’re a fully student-run team and all of our dancers have put a lot of time in to make this competition season possible, whether it’s organizing fundraisers, mixing our music, or spending countless hours on choreography. We made it to the national championships last year, and we hope to do the same this year!

We’ve received minimal funding from the university so we have also taken steps to fundraise on our own, but between costumes, traveling, hotels, and increased competition registration fees, we simply don’t have the funds right now to attend competitions. We’d really appreciate any support you can provide in getting us to nationals!
