Hello dear friends,
As some of you know from my most recent post on Facebook, my health took a serious decline recently as the result of multiple mental illnesses and a second concussion. I am currently hospitalised while a team of kind medical professionals keep me alive, safe and stable as they change my treatment plan and medication. One huge point that continues to be brought up by my doctors is how much good they think it would do me to go home to Canada for the holidays to spend some much needed time with my family. I have not spent Christmas there since 2012 and it would be one of my last chances to see my amazing 92-year old Grandma Lois.
Unfortunately, I am completely unable to afford the flight, let alone the huge medical bills I am facing. I have had a lot of loss of work since September due to these health issues. Asking for help and accepting generosity has been very hard, but at the behest of a couple of dear friends and my medical team, I am turning to this campaign to somehow find a way.
I need the funds very quickly so that I can buy a plane ticket before the prices skyrocket even higher, and so I can be sure to be supplied with medication while I am in Canada and also be prepared for any medical emergencies while I am there (since I am no longer insured there.) These funds will also ensure that I will have a roof over my head and some food to eat in the coming weeks while I continue to adjust to my new mental health routine.
My birthday is December 24th, so if I could blow out my candles now this is all I would wish for! Thank you for reading and whether or not you can donate, I am deeply grateful.
