Help Send Peter on a River Boat Cruise

Peter Moore has been serving us coffee at Horse Shows for, my goodness, at least the last 20 years.

Peter’s wife, Pam Hayden, started the coffee shop and thankfully provided coffee for the braider’s (the really early risers), the grooms, exhibitors and staff. She would be there long before the crack of dawn for anyone who needed a cup of coffee.

A few years ago Pam suffered a stroke. She wanted to continue the coffee stand so Peter stepped in to help her. As time went on it became clear that Peter would become the Brewmeister and Pam would become the friendly face that greeted us all as we walked up to the stand.

As time went on there was less and less that Pam could do, so Peter continued to do the stand and he also made many friends along the way.

Last year Peter, and all of us, lost Pam to complications from her stroke.

I talked to Peter yesterday at the Upperville horse show and I asked him if he ever took a vacation. He just chuckled. About that time he was summoned to make a cheeseburger for a customer.

He did share with me that he has always wanted to take a river cruise down the snake river. My hopes is that we can get enough money together to let him go on that cruise, and take some of his family and favorite people with him to make it more fun.

If you’ve been at a show the coffee shop is at you have watched the care and love Peter has given Pam for years. Most everyone will agree with me that he is one of the most amazing, dedicated, wonderful human beings on the face of this earth.

Pam Hayden was surely blessed to have Peter Moore in her life.

And please - keep Peter in your prayers for peace. He misses Pam.

Pam passed away last year at the Upperville Horse Show. May she rest in peace, and may Peter have peace of knowing there is a special place in heaven for him.
