Help Send Nicky to the 2022 TCW

Hey hey! Last week I received some of the best news of my life: I was accepted into the 2022 Teacher Certification Workshop with the Society of American Fight Directors! (For my non-theatre or non-combat friends, imagine the stage combat version of grad school.) This has been a goal of mine ever since my first stage combat class at ECU in 2010, and I am beyond excited to take this next (huge!) step in my career. In July, I and 7 other candidates will spend 3 intensive weeks learning, teaching, observing, and collaborating. At the end of the workshop, we leave as Certified Teachers with the Society of American Fight Directors.

 

This is a goal I've had for over a decade, but the price point is nonetheless pretty high. Tuition for the TCW falls right around $3,500, which does not include housing, transportation, or food. If you are able, I am humbly asking for your help, friends. I am passionate about advancing and evolving our artform, in making training more accessible and affordable, and diversifying the member base of the SAFD. With CT status, I will be able to accomplish even more!
