My name is Natalie Meachum, and I am honored to share an exciting opportunity that represents both a dream and a significant milestone in my musical journey.

Four years ago, I began playing the violin—and in that time, it has become more than an instrument to me. Violin is my passion, my creative outlet, and a place where I find freedom, focus, and emotional expression. As someone who is also deeply committed to becoming a medical brain specialist, violin provides a necessary balance in my life: it nurtures my soul, sharpens my discipline, and allows me to process complex feelings in a healthy, beautiful way.

I was recently accepted into the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, a prestigious, four-week summer program in Vermont where I’ll have the chance to study chamber music intensively with world-class faculty. For years, my teacher, Dr. Stephanie Ezerman, has spoken about how transformative this festival is, but it always felt like a distant dream. Until now.

After applying just a few weeks ago, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially been accepted. This summer, I’ll have the chance to grow as a musician, prepare for college auditions, and learn alongside a community of passionate, talented peers.

This opportunity comes at a pivotal time: I was also accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school program, where I’ll be studying violin under Kevin Lawrence during my senior year. Green Mountain will provide the foundation I need to enter this next chapter fully prepared and inspired.

The total cost of the program is $5,000, which includes:

• $4,400 for tuition and housing

• $600 for travel to Vermont
