Help send Mr. Fuss to Brazil for the SPCCF!

Hello, My name is Stephen Fuss. I am a composer and music educator living in rural Oregon. This year I was accepted into the 2024 edition of the São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival happening this August! This is an exciting opportunity to continue to share my music with the world, and expand my knowledge of the world and of its music! This opportunity will also help me reach my career goals of getting my Masters in composition and eventually becoming a professor of composition.

The festival is 9 days in São Paulo, Brazil! During the festival, I will be attending rehearsals for my piece "A Clock That Talks in Ticks" for string quartet which will be premiered there, and will be attending classes and workshops about composing and the classical music industry. Additionally there will be time to explore the city, surrounding area, and the culture in São Paulo,, as well as networking and building community with other composers. This festival will also help me bring the culture of Brazil back into my K-3 music classroom and be a better culturally responsive music educator. Though I have received a scholarship and am looking into funding through grants and expanding my private lessons studio, this fundraiser will help cover the tuition costs, flights to and from São Paulo, and food while I am in São Paulo!
