Help send Milo to the 2023 Jr. Olympics in Track & Field!
Hello, Family & Friends! My name is Camillo “Milo” Zamora and I am 10 years old (turning 11 on 8/1/23), and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read my story. This is my first time joining any kind of competitive sport, or even playing a sport. I always enjoyed running whether it was just playing with my friends, in PE class or running around with my brother and cousins. 1 year ago, I became more interested in Track & Field and knowing my Dad excelled in the sport, I wanted to know more. I started watching videos on YouTube and TikTok of many athletes around the world running in various field events and meets. I admire their speed, endurance and most of all their love for the sport. While most people despise running, I find it exciting. I told my parents a few weeks after starting with the Swooptime Track & Field Team that I wanted to make the Jr Olympics, so I worked hard and stayed motivated to continue to beat my last running time and gain a new PR to keep chasing my running goals in getting faster, not worrying about who’s behind me or in front of me, but to keep running for me – AND, SO I DID JUST THAT AND QUALIFIED FOR THE JR OLYMPICS in Des Moines, Iowa being held at Drake University from July 29th through August 5, 2023!
I did not expect to make it even though it was a goal. Because of this, my running team and parents did not start fundraising for my trip in time. Any money donated will be used to secure all expenses for myself and one of my parents. Any amount you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated, and if you can’t contribute money at this time, that’s okay too. My biggest ask for all of you is to send me nothing but good luck, prayers, and vibes while I embark on this journey to the Jr Olympics!
*if you can share my page with other friends, co-workers and family members it would mean a lot to me!
