Story

Hello Friends, my name is Ryan Wyche, I'm a 16 year old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am a rising junior at Woodlawn High school. I am raising $9,150 to attend Berklee College of Music’s prestigious summer program for high school students, Aspire: 5-week Music Performance Intensive. Please read below for more details. Be sure to check out my DONOR REWARDS available for certain levels of donations.HOW YOU CAN HELP Please donateThe tuition is $5,430 and the housing is $3,700, with a total cost of $9,150. I have applied and auditioned for the available scholarship, however the scholarship only partially covers the costs. In order to secure my placement in the camp, I need to submit funds by June 1st, 2021. It would mean the world to an aspiring musician if you could help out and donate. REWARDS FOR DONORS$100-$299: Custom postcard from me while I attend the program.$300-$399: Playlist customized to your music tastes and including new artists to expand your repertoire $400-$499: Custom song remix of a song of your choosing $500-$999:  One custom beginner lesson in music theory $1000: Original thank you(or birthday)  song produced by me featuring your nameWHY I LOVE MUSICDo you like breathing? Of course you do, it's what makes you alive! That's what music does for me. Becoming a Record Producer and Film Scorer is my dream. With my music I see myself shifting culture. I picture myself creating decade defining scores like “Star Wars” and “The Godfather”. You know what excites me the most? Making the type of music that lifts you out of the dirt and echoes through your life. I've been making music for over 5 years. I play the trumpet and produce electronic music. Ever since I played my first solo performance at my grandfather's memorial, I knew this was the life for me. I've participated in district wide competitions, ensembles, and performances. I've invested all resources and time I have including weekends, holidays, allowances, birthday money into furthering my musical education. PAYING IT FORWARDAfter completing the summer program, I plan to use my knowledge of the program and the music skills I have gained to mentor a younger student at my school. My hope is my mentee will attend the same program next year!WHY BERKLEE Berklee College of Music is my dream school. There, I can learn from the best and hone my craft in a rigorous environment. I've been carefully constructing my web of Berklee Students and alumni who guide me on my journey. I meet with my mentor, a Berklee alumni, weekly to learn music theory, sound design, composition, music technology, and music business. I love making music and plan to pursue it as a career, so when I heard about my dream school's summer program I had to audition. WHAT I WILL GAIN FROM ASPIRETo help achieve my dream, I’ve set my sights on one of Berklee’s summer programs offered to high school students. This camp is the best possible option for my growth because I would have access to first rate facilities and studios with state of the art equipment that I wouldn't get at home. Also, Berklee is a hub for musicians from around the country and world, so going to this camp would introduce me to musicians I wouldn’t be able to meet otherwise. Furthermore, success in this summer program puts me in the position to earn a full scholarship to my dream school. Besides the amazing scholarship potential, Berklee's Aspire: 5-week Music Performance Intensive will teach me the finer application of musical skills and vigor of the craft. Attending this camp provides me a leg up to network with the right people and gets me one step closer to securing the funding to attend Berklee in the future. I believe that I can bring my open minded production, dedication, and love to Berklee. I would love to share my music with you and the world and if you would like to learn more about me or my craft, I would be happy to talk.
