Help send Mary Froese to Mexico for back surgery
Mary has experienced some back pain for close to 30 years which was manageable, but recently things got severely worse. She has had a very painful tingling and burning sensation in her right leg from the knee down since May of this year. This limits her from standing for any length of time and she cannot lie down flat, which makes the nights very difficult. At times she sits on a recliner chair all night.
She has been to a number of different chiropractors, done regular massages, seen her doctor, and takes prescription pain medication around the clock to function. She has recently done two MRIs which show that she has a cyst on her spine which is pressing on her nerve, as well as a few unstable discs.
The only option Mary has been given so far is to do another MRI in 6 months to see if the cyst has grown, possibly see a specialist in 4 months, and see a surgeon in 2 years.
We have also sent her MRI to a surgeon in Mexico where our sister Connie and a number of others that we know, also had very successful back surgeries. We wanted a second opinion because 2 years is an incredibly long time to wait. This surgeon in Mexico says that Mary needs a surgery and that she can come any day and he will fix her up. Not only would he remove the cyst, he would also fix her discs.
When you’re in pain 24/7 and you’re given the option to be fixed immediately and be free of pain, it seems like a very good option and is so appealing. But this option is very expensive! While surgery here in Canada would be covered by OHIP, having the surgery in Mexico means it will need to be paid out of our own pocket. Thank you all again for your prayers and support. We really appreciate it.
