Help send Lynn to the Life Healing Center

A couple years ago I was diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder, since then I have struggled to find effective ways to help treat and deal with my illness. The Healing Center offers multiple avenues for me to explore and learn how I can better manage my illness.

3 years ago I was hospitalized at Haven Psychiatric Hospital, I had become suicidal to the point where my husband and myself feared I would take my own life. While staying at the hospital I was seen by multiple psychiatric doctors who cumulatively diagnosed me with Bipolar II.  Since then I have regular visits with my therapist and my personal psychiatrist which have helped me sustain my illness. Unfortunately this has not been enough to keep me from going into suicidal bouts. No one ever wants to kill themselves but the pain and suffering makes the impulse greater than the reasonable reaction in the moment, which is a terrifying and very real thought I struggle with as do most people with Bipolar I and II.

This past year has been one of the hardest yet with the obvious onset of the pandemic, additionally I have been personally affected this past year by finding out my father has Stage 4 Non-small Cell Lung Cancer. This is and has always been my biggest fear in life and with onset of this news, it has been very hard for me to even exist. This news alone was devastating, on top of my husband and I losing his grandfather this past June.

Most recently I have come into conflict with my superiors at my job causing my current suicidal bout. This episode has been by far the worst I have experienced. My husband has taken off work for fear of me killing myself. Last Thursday, 2/4 he came home to find me passed out from some medication I took, my carotid pulse was hard for him to find because it was so weak. It took a sternum rub to wake me, a technique first responders use to check the responsiveness in patients.

As a teacher, we do not get adequate sick time to help financially cover us through this. So we are currently struggling to make ends meet. We need to find help desperately now and even with the help of insurance this center will cost 3000 dollars to cover. We plan to take out a loan to cover the costs upfront but any little bit to help my family pay this off would be greatly appreciated.

This treatment center provides 30 days of intensive therapy including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Group Focused Therapy. In addition to that, they will do a medicinal reevaluation and find out what medications will work best to treat me(I am currently taking 6 various medications!!!).
