My name is Thy, and I’m a single mom who has been cheering on my son, Luca, from the sidelines since he was just a little boy with a big dream. Being a soccer mom has been one of the greatest joys and responsibilities of my life.
Luca is 15 years old now, but he’s been in love with soccer since he was 6. By 9, he was already playing competitive travel soccer, dedicating his evenings, weekends, and summers to the sport he loves most. I’ve watched him grow—not only as a player but also as a young man who shows determination, discipline, and heart in everything he does.
I’m reaching out because my son has been offered one of only 18 spots at IDA Academy in Valencia, Spain—a dream opportunity he’s been working toward all his life. The program is fiercely selective, and to be chosen speaks volumes about his talent, his drive, and how far he’s come.
What is IDA Valencia and what this academy program entails:
An elite international soccer & academic academy for dedicated players aged roughly 15-22.
Top-tier training: intensive field training, strength & conditioning, exposure to scouts and professional clubs around Spain.
Full residential experience: housing, meals, transportation within Spain, academic coursework, Spanish lessons—everything to support both his education and his football.
It’s not just about playing. It’s about being in a professionally structured environment, getting seen by the right people, building his skills, discipline, mindset—and growing into opportunities beyond what’s possible here.
Why This Means So Much:
From the time he could kick a ball, his goal has been to attend a Spanish academy and pursue becoming a professional footballer. This chance at IDA is more than just training; it’s a turning point. Being part of this academy would give him the tools, exposure, and environment he needs to compete at the highest levels.
As a single mom, I’m doing everything I can to support him. I believe in him with everything in me—but $19,000 is more than I can raise on my own.
What the Cost Covers—and What It Doesn’t:
The $19,000 covers tuition, academics, player development, housing, and transportation (within Spain). Unfortunately, it does not include the flight to Spain. That means we’ll also need help with airfare above and beyond the tuition package.
How You Can Help:
Any contribution, big or small, brings him closer to this dream. If you’re unable to donate, sharing his story—on social media, with friends, with people who care about youth sports or education—means more than words.
Your support isn’t just for this year. It’s an investment in a young man’s potential, in hard work, in believing that talent paired with opportunity can change a life.
Thank you so much for reading, believing, and standing with us. With your help, we can make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity real for him.
With gratitude,
Thy and Luca
