I am honored to be selected to the World Championship Ironman as a physically challenged athlete! I'm participating for all disabled people, especially stroke survivors, being one myself, having experienced a life threatening stroke in 2012.
It will be a challenge! The Ironman is a 2.4 mile ocean swim, 112 mile windy and hot bike ride, and a full marathon, 26.2 miles, all under 17 hours. The challenge is real, just like recovering from stroke.
Through participating, I hope to give courage, hope, and empowerment to all stroke survivors. Whether the aftereffects are mild to profound, dream what your life may become. Stroke is not the end.. Dream big, ridiculously big. Stroke Survivors CAN!
