Help send Jignesh's mortal remains back to India
Update: Thank you, everyone, for your support and kindness during such trying times. Jignesh reached India on 13th June where his family performed the final rites. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
(The Modi family has pledged to help the other families involved in this tragic accident and also to the needy with the excess funds)
Our dear friend Jignesh Modi left us broken-hearted on Sunday 30th May 2021. His sudden demise at the very young age of 27 came as a shock to all of us. He & his friends met with a fatal crash crash accident on highway 58, OR en route to Crater Lake. He was an unfortunate victim of reckless driving by someone else; whom the police are currently investigating. When emergency services arrived, Jignesh, along with two other friends, was pronounced deceased on the spot.
Jignesh was my best friend and my roommate in Los Angeles for the past 2 years when we were pursuing our masters. He was a very thoughtful, generous, loving, and kind soul. He always put others before himself. We will remember him as the one to bring in laughter in a room full of gloom.
The funds collected will be used to send his mortal remains to his family back in India, so that his parents can say goodbye one last time to their beloved son and perform his last rites. It will also be used to repay part of his student loans and any excess funds will be used to help the families of other friends involved in this tragic accident. Since Jignesh has no direct family here in the US, his family has authorized me to withdraw the funds on their behalf and deliver the money to them outside of GoFundMe.
Jignesh's family back in India is mostly dependent on him and all the funds raised here will directly go to his Dad, Mr. Sudhir Modi.

In these difficult times, No amount is too small.
Any help is appreciated.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Gone too soon.
