Help send Jaxon to the Jr National Young Leaders Conference

As many of you know, Jaxon is our 12 year old son and is a current 7th grader at Massabesic Middle School. While we most often share pictures and posts of Jaxon’s sports teams, we aren’t as good about sharing his academic achievements! After being nominated by one of his amazing teachers, Jaxon was one of the 2025 Nominees selected to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. He is so excited about this opportunity and has set a personal goal of $1400 (total cost to attend this conference is $3145). While we are beginning to brainstorm ways for him to raise this money, we wanted to hit the ground running with a GoFundMe in hopes that there are friends and family that would be willing to help Jaxon achieve his goal!

At the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC), Jaxon will be attending with other 7th and 8th grade students from across the country and have the opportunity to spend six amazing educational days experiencing history and politics among museums and monuments. These kiddos will be inspired by exemplary stories of courage and collaborate to discover solutions to some of the issues they face today.

Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Start your leadership journey at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. During this six-day Envision program, Atlanta, Boston, or Washington, D.C., will serve as a living classroom for students as they develop leadership skills and enjoy the educational experience of a lifetime.

With a focus on influential figures from American history and social advocacy, JrNYLC is a program packed with fun and engaging site experiences as well as hands-on activities that bring the concepts and skills of effective leadership to life.

Through powerful workshops, group activities, and hands-on simulations, students will lay a foundation for critical thinking and leadership skills with an action plan for what they will accomplish during the conference, beginning with a Mission Statement.

Students will identify the leadership traits of influential figures to inform their own leadership attributes and build new ones in Roots of Leadership. They will also learn the elements of a Public Service Announcement and how to utilize it to overcome intolerance. In the Facing the Music Simulation, young leaders will understand who has decision-making power and the best ways to affect change. Finally, students will exercise presentation skills to create an effective argument while examining First Amendment rights during the Peach Patch Protest workshop.
