My cousin Jacob Sparks, was diagnosed at a young age with severe autism, epilepsy, and a sleeping disorder, among other diagnoses. The last 13 years have been rough for him, however 2020 has been the worst. The once happy boy who found joy from listening to Baby Einstein on his iPad and tapping his hanger, is now struggling to cope with the changes in his disability severity. His wonderful parents, Jesse and Mendy are working to get him placed at Lake Mary, a residential psychiatric center. The goal is to help assist Jacob with getting medical treatment and other skills to help keep him with his family at home. However this does come at a cost. Insurance is covering only a portion of it. His family is responsible for paying the other half. I understand that this year and this time of year, it is difficult for everyone financially. My hopes is that we can help lessen the burden and help my family raise money to get the sweet boy the treatment he needs.
