Transform the life of a young Haitian violinist!
You can make a dream come true by helping send 13 year-old Haitian violinist Ishel Jean Noel to The Interlochen Center for the Arts. One of the nation's most prestigious music schools for middle and high school students, Interlochen's summer academy brings together young musicians from around the globe and takes their musical development to the next level.
This past March, Ishel participated in the first ever National Orchestra Institute in Haiti. Sponsored by BLUME Haiti, the initiative brought Maestro Thierry Fischer and 16 musicians from the Utah Symphony, one of the top symphony orchestras in the US, to provide an intensive week of training and performance for Haiti's best young musicians.
Ishel's talent, drive and optimism was immediately noticed by Utah Symphony violinists David Langr and Yuki MacQueen; they really enjoyed working with Ishel and found him to be very bright with an exceptional ear and great coordination. David then helped Ishel finalize his application for Interlochen.
We are thrilled that Ishel has been accepted to this selective program and has received a full tuition scholarship from Interlochen. Inspired by the news, the Utah Symphony musicians immediately pitched in and generously contributed enough to cover his airfare! Now we need to raise a little more to cover uniforms, health insurance, visa fees, lessons, and incidentals, a total cost of $1500, which we need to raise by May 30.
Help us send this very talented young violinist on the experience of a lifetime, one he won't soon forget.
All funds raised to help BLUME Haiti send Ishel to Interlochen are tax deductible within the limits allowed by law.
Thank you for your support and helping us reach our goal of $1500.
