Grayson Lock Hunt is 9 years old and is in the 3rd grade at Prospect School in Maxton, NC. He is the son of Barbie and Gaylord Hunt, younger brother to Chance.

Grayson was nominated by Ms. Linda Bullard of Prospect Elementary Junior High School to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Pathways to STEM, an Envision program to be held this summer, 2017. (NYLFpathways.com)

Only the brightest, most highly motivated students are singled out by their teachers for nomination to NYLF Pathways to STEM.

I would like to also mention that no child from Prospect School has ever been to this program. The location will be at Wake Forest University in Winton-Salem, NC.

Grayson's curriculum choice will be "Engineering". He will delve into the exciting world of engineering design when they code a robot to compete in the Sphero Robotics Challenge.

Tuition for the program alone is $ 2,095.00. We will also be required to purchase uniforms for 6 days, transportation and hotels stay for at least two nights. Maybe more for Mom.....may need to take a weeks’ vacation to stay close by! (just a little humor)

The cost is incredible however the chance for our son to participate in this program will mold his life and shape his future. We are beyond words proud that our son was nominated. Grayson is truly a special child, he is polite, courteous, he holds doors open, he respects his elders, does good in school and is well rounded. He loves to ride bicycles, dirt bikes, loves to hunt (country boy), swim and loves outside. On the other hand, he loves his computer as well. Grayson will go onto YouTube and learn how to do anything!!! He will take pens and paper clips to make “office war” gadgets, he makes homemade slime to play with and so much more. He is mechanically incline if you let him play with it he can figure it out. At a young age, he could take your cell phone, take a selfie and save it to your wallpaper and change your ring tone to dirt bike noises.

We would be grateful for your help to send our son to this summer school program. This program does not get enough recognition. Our hope is not only to help send our child to this once in a life time opportunity but to help raise awareness of this tremendous program.
