Help Send German Student to Berlin!

Guten Tag!

 

My name is Erin Munsie, and I teach German in Cincinnati Public Schools (Cincinnati, Ohio). One of my students, Osaretin, received a full scholarship (worth over $6,000!) based on merit and financial need to spend four weeks in Berlin, Germany this summer. She will be taking language classes, learning about Germany's rich culture, staying with a host family and immersing herself in a language she has spent three years studying. As her teacher, I know just how deserving of this life-changing opportunity Osaretin is. She is incredibly motivated, kind, hard-working and intelligent. She will represent both Cincinnati Public Schools, as well as all German students in the United States, very well.

 

We have created this GoFundMe to raise money to help send Osaretin to Berlin! Her scholarship includes everything in Berlin, but we need to raise at least enough money to cover her flight from Cincinnati, Ohio. All money will go directly to Osaretin and her trip, helping cover costs such as passport fees, luggage, etc., if the flight cost is covered.

Flights are very expensive right now and we want to send Osaretin and another student attending on the chaperoned flight, as international travel can be quite nerve wracking for any first time traveler, much less a student under 18! We are trying to raise a few hundred extra dollars to help also cover the heightened cost of flights right now for both students. 

 

People often want to help support students and their learning. For those of you who have spent time abroad, you know the difference it can make and the doors it can open. Any help you can give to ensure that Osaretin makes it to Berlin is more than appreciated by her school, community, and family. As a junior in high school, Osaretin will be able to return home after her trip and share her new experiences with her classmates.
