For those of you who don't know me, my name is Amy and I am a 46 yr old nursing student. This means I spend most of my time at school with 20 yr. old women from many different parts of the state and country. And for many in my class, this was their first election.
After the Nov 8 election, we are all feeling uncertainty and grief, but I can see that many of my young classmates are also fearful. These are women of diverse races and backgrounds. Many are feeling scared for their safety and that of their families. Witnessing this is like a rallying cry to me.
It's so important for our young women to know they are not forgotten and we are willing to fight for their rights to be respected and honored. They need to commune with other strong women and find their own voice so together we can face our nations challenges.
So here is the plan-
We (Karen, Jen and I) are hoping to take four young nursing students, along with our daughters to DC for the Women's March on Washington on Jan 21, 2017. We want to show the new administration that women are going to stand together with an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion. We need to protect the rights of all women and guide our youngest women along the way. We need your help.
Help fly them to DC for 3 days to be a part of history and a life changing experience.
The money raised will be spent on their airfare and lodging, transportation and pizza.
We have a house rented that can accommodate these young women plus a few more if we can raise the funds.
If you support the Women's March in DC but can not attend yourself, please consider helping send a young woman to march in your place knowing that she is there with the help of other women who believe in her.
Time is of the essence because the flights will only get more expensive. Please donate today!
