Please watch the video and information below to learn about our scholars:
Hi all, we are 8th grade teachers at Rowe Middle School located on Chicago's west side! Our Title 1 school services communities from neighborhoods like Humboldt Park, Back of the Yards, West Town, Englewood, Austin, Garfield Park, Little Village, and many more.
Our goal is to send 80 of our 8th graders to Washington D.C. this April. This year, our 8th graders are becoming informed citizens on how our government works. This trip will allow them to take their learning outside the classroom and experience it in the real world. Our scholars are hardworking, intelligent, adaptable, and curious about the world around them. We don't want money to be an obstacle, especially for scholars who are so excited and deserving to go.
We are raising money not only for an 8th grade trip, but an experience of a lifetime. Many of our scholars have never left the state of Illinois, let alone Chicago. The majority of our trip, from exploring monuments to flying on an airplane, will be a first experience for many of our scholars.
Here are some things your money will provide...
-Airfare and transportation
-Lodging
-Food
-Guided tours of
- Museums
- National Mall monuments
- Arlington Cemetery
- Capitol Building
- And so much more!
Any contribution will mean a huge difference in the lives of our scholars. We appreciate the support and your time.
Thank you so much,
RMS 8th Grade Team
Here are some pictures from our 2023 trip:
