Hi! We're the Cal Poly Mock Trial program's Executive Board and were raising money to send our team to Nationals.
Every year, the American Mock Trial Association hosts a series of tournaments across the nation for college students to argue a fictitious legal case problem. Over 700 registered teams attend each year. Just 48 of these teams make it to the third and final stage: the National Championship Tournament. This competitive season, we at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo are one of those 48 teams. We've just qualified our team to Nationals for just the second time in our program's history - the first time during the tenure of any current program members.
We're student-run, meaning we've passed down our knowledge from student to student over the years without traditional coaches, dedicating countless hours to create a platform for students to learn legal practices and develop public speaking skills. Ultimately, earning a bid to the National Championship shows our success in doing so.
This April, your funds will help us book flights & train rides to and from Nationals in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, pay for hotel stays, and food. In preparation for our tournament, it'll help us pay for necessary equipment such as physical exhibits, printing extensive case materials, and a myriad of other supplies to use in our trials.
