Angel's Story

Angel is a three-legged dog living in a small hilltop village in southern Italy. She is a Spinone Italiano — a breed known for its gentle, loving nature — and she has had more than her share of hardship.

She was abandoned as a puppy, almost certainly because of a deformity in one of her back legs that made her seem less useful as a hunting dog. She found her way to the door of our dear friend Jack one night, hungry and frightened. Without a second thought, Jack took her in.

Under Jack's love and care, Angel blossomed. She lives happily with Jack's dachshund Blu and two cats. Her three legs don't slow her down at all — she keeps up with everyone and asks for almost nothing in return. Jack often said it broke his heart to think about what her life had been like before she found him. He made sure she would never feel abandoned again.

Jack passed away in May 2026.

Why We're Raising Funds

Angel has found a forever home with Jami in the United States — someone who heard her story and said yes without hesitation. But getting her there safely requires:

We estimate the total cost at $4,000–$5,000, and we will update the goal once we receive the final quote from the transport service.

Every dollar goes directly to Angel's journey. Nothing more, nothing less. Any funds beyond the final cost will be donated to a local Italian animal rescue in Jack's memory.

Angel has already been abandoned once. She has already lost the man who saved her. She deserves a soft landing — a home where she is loved, and where she stays.
