Hello there!!! My name is Amber and if you know me, dance is life. I've been dancing since I was born and, God willing, I have no intention of ever stopping.
Recently, I was honored to receive one of twenty positions in Ate9's Summer Course. There, I'll be working closely with Danielle Agami, artistic director and master Gaga language teacher. This is an invaluable opportunity for me to continue education in my chosen field of work.
About three years ago, I made the decision to leave the ballet world in order to become my most truthful self. Both as a dancer and as a human. Thus, I began a journey into relearning everything that I thought I knew, throwing away self constraining ideas, and finding more openness within myself to begin again.
Since transitioning from ballet to contemporary dance and working as a freelance dancer I've experienced uncertainty, hardships, yet tremendous growth in several aspects of my life.
As a part of my unwavering appetite to know more, I've attended workshops with BodyTraffic, NW Dance Project, and a much shorter workshop with Ate9 in Atlanta. Each experience has taught me so much about who I am, how I want to be seen and express myself as an artist. Each experience reminding me of my why. Each experience guiding me to where I'm meant to be.
All this to say, please help me continue on my path :) I'm really excited to have the chance to work Danielle and learn more about the Gaga language, as it feels so delicious on my body.
Details about the Summer Program
* July 8-26th, M-F grooving/learning/growing 11am-5pm
* $1600 in tuition (needed by July 8th)
* estimated $1400 in travel and accommodations (Los Angeles, CA)
