Hi there! I am a teacher at Pine Forest Charter School in Flagstaff, AZ.
I've been with my class since 5th grade- the year the COVID pandemic sent us home. Fortunately, I've seen them grow over the years, facing the challenges we've all endured. In this time of loss, one aspect that has been difficult for these middle schoolers is the lack of social interactions and the ability to explore the world. While we are making up for the lost time in the classroom, we've still been unable to explore the world through field trips. That's where I need your help.
Our 8th-grade trip's goal is to go to California to the Catalina Island Marine Insitute at the end of the year. This program facilitates the learning of natural sciences while importantly challenging students to explore the world around them, experience adventure, and build important social skills among their peers.
Funds raised will be used to send these wonderful kids to California. From travel and accommodation expenses to the program itself, we want families and their children to not worry about another financial burden. We want to give them an unforgettable, life-changing experience- one they'll always remember.
$8,000 will cover half the cost of our trip but is a great place to start for now.
Thank you for your consideration, time, and resources.
