Help Semia Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

My name is Jennifer Lowery, and along with some other friends, we're reaching out with a heartfelt appeal for Semia Ostrover, a cherished member of our WNC real estate community. On September 27, 2024, Semia's home was destroyed by catastrophic flooding during Tropical Storm Helene. What is left of her house has to be demolished, and she has to start over from scratch.

Despite these challenges, including the impact on her home-based business, Semia remains dedicated to providing top-notch client support. Currently, she is living with friends and dealing with the aftermath, including a denied insurance claim due to the lack of flood insurance. Efforts to secure aid through FEMA and other loans have brought limited relief.

Semia is now planning to rebuild a tiny home with some community support, but significant needs remain for materials, subcontractors, and essential home items. She also is still responsible for a mortgage of over $100,000 even though she no longer has a habitable home. We are initiating a fundraising campaign to help her cover these costs. Any donation, big or small, will profoundly impact her recovery efforts.
