My current motorized wheelchair weighs over 65lbs, making it very difficult for my parents, who are both 72 years old and live on a fixed income, to lift. We have tried to save for a lighter chair, but with my long COVID, progressing multiple sclerosis, and liver failure, we continue to face setbacks. Every day, getting to doctor appointments is a challenge, and my parents struggle to help me safely because of the weight and size of my chair.

A new lightweight, travel-regulated chair and portable wheelchair ramp would make life much easier and safer for me and my parents. It would mean we could get to medical appointments without risking injury, and I could go out with my parents to visit family and friends. This would give me back my independence and allow us to enjoy more moments together, despite the health challenges we face.
