We wanted to provide you with an update on Selina's journey as she fights against cancer. She recently underwent her first round of chemotherapy, and we are proud to report that she handled it with incredible strength and resilience, truly showcasing her inner Shero.

As with any medical treatment, Selina has experienced some side effects. She has been feeling extremely fatigued, making it challenging for her to carry out most daily activities.

Additionally, her sense of taste has been altered, everything tasting like salt, which has made it difficult for her to enjoy meals.

Furthermore, Selina can only stay awake for about 30 minutes at a time, making it essential for her to rest and conserve her energy.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support and generosity. The financial burden of cancer treatment is overwhelming, but your donations have made a significant impact on Selina's journey. Your contributions have helped cover medical expenses and provided much-needed relief during this challenging time.

Looking ahead, Selina will soon face the inevitable loss of her gorgeous long hair. However, we have taken steps to ensure her comfort and confidence by ordering stylish headwear that will help her embrace her new look with grace and elegance.

UPDATE 17 MAY - Support Selina's Leiomyosarcoma Journey -  cancer sux! 

Dear Friends and Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out today to share an update on our dear friend Selina, who has been facing some challenging times recently.

Selina has spent the past fortnight undergoing further testing, which has led to the development of a treatment plan that is set to begin next week.

On Monday, Selina will undergo surgery to have a portacath inserted into her chest. This portacath will serve as a vital access point for the chemotherapy treatment that will start on Thursday.

The chemotherapy drug, doxorubicin, is known for its strength and effectiveness in combating the illness Selina is facing.

During this journey, Selina will face some significant challenges. As a result of the treatment, she will be unable to attend events with large amounts of people, as her immune system will be compromised, making her highly susceptible to infections.

Furthermore, within the next 2 to 3 weeks, Selina will begin to experience hair loss, which can be emotionally and physically difficult to cope with. It is during these times of adversity that the support and generosity of our community truly shine.

Your ongoing support and acts of kindness have been incredibly comforting for Selina.

However, we recognise that the journey ahead will require additional resources to ensure Selina's well-being and peace of mind. The funds raised will be utilised to cover medical and living expenses, and any additional support services that may be required throughout her journey.

Selina visited the medical oncologist, and the next step in her journey is a lung biopsy scheduled for next Thursday. This biopsy will provide crucial information that will guide us in determining the most effective treatment for her condition. It is likely that she will undergo either chemotherapy or participate in an immunotherapy trial, and these decisions will be made in the coming two weeks. We anticipate that the first phase of her treatment, consisting of a series of three-month treatments, will commence within the next two to three weeks.
