Sweet Selena was found on the side of a busy road in Michoacan, Mexico along with her sister, Mona - malnourished and afraid. When asking the nearby neighbors if they belonged to anyone, heads shook. It was clear these little puppies needed to be saved. After a quick visit to the vet to check for their immediate health, they were driven back to Mexico City.

In the course of 4 weeks and after initial vaccinations, Mona found her forever home. But Selena, unfortunately, had a difficult turn of events following her sister’s adoption. In one of her follow up visits to the vet, they noticed an irregular heart beat. The following weeks involved more vet visits and cardiology appointments, finally coming to the conclusion that Selena was born with a bigger heart and a blood vessel that didn’t close properly after birth, causing her heart to work harder.

The cardiologists (we had multiple opinions) came to the conclusion that baby Selena needs surgery and sadly, it’s no small cost. Without the surgery, Selena will only live one year. The surgery will cost approx. $5k.

Selina's caretakers do the best they can to support these puppies as they transition to their forever homes, but sometimes things like this happen and they can’t fund the entire amount. They're asking for your help to get Selena the care she needs so she cannot only find her forever home, but live a good and long life there.
