Hi everyone! My name is Selah, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I’ll be majoring in Special Effects Wig and Makeup Design.

This program is a dream come true. I’ve always been passionate about storytelling through makeup, wigs, and prosthetics—bringing characters to life and transforming actors with color, texture, and imagination. UNCSA is one of the few schools in the country that offers specialized training in this field, and I’m so excited to learn from top industry professionals.

I never dreamed of this opportunity becoming a reality, and even at the beginning of 2025 I did not expect to be accepted. However, God had a different plan. Although I had missed the acceptance cutoff for the upcoming year, the university stumbled upon my portfolio and through God's favor I was contacted and asked to join UNCSA. What a God-moment this was for my life!

However, since I wasn't officially a part of the University until this June, I was unable to qualify for any of UNCSA's scholarships or grants. With that said, as part of the program, I’m required to purchase a wide range of professional makeup, wig styling, and special effects tools and supplies. These materials are essential for my classes and future career, but they come at a cost, and unfortunately, this cost isn’t covered by tuition or financial aid. This was an unexpected last-minute expense, and I may not be prepared to move forward with this dream opportunity.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support. Any donation, no matter how small, will help me get the tools I need to succeed in this incredibly competitive and hands-on program. Your generosity will go directly toward:
