The South Euclid Humane Society is committed to giving every animal in our care a chance for a healthy and happy life. 2025 brought some serious and expensive medical situations to the rescue, especially a litter of three 7-month old kittens who are facing serious health issues. Their story is below. We are raising funds to support their care. All donations will be applied to their medical care and is tax deductible. If you’re unable to give, just sharing their story will be a tremendous help.
Frankie, Sprout and Beanie are seven month old brothers, who love life and each other. But recently, everything changed. Frankie developed a limp, struggling to walk, clearly in distress. Meanwhile, Sprout and Beanie both began losing energy, stopped playing, and started showing signs that something was seriously wrong. After multiple vet visits and expensive tests we received the diagnosis no one ever wants to hear:
Sprout and Beanie both have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). FIP was once considered a fatal disease, and without treatment these sweet kittens would not have a chance. The good news is that there is a treatment protocol that gives them a real chance at survival!
Frankie has bilateral MPL (medial patellar luxation)—a painful condition where the kneecaps slip out of place in both hind legs. Without treatment, Frankie would face worsening pain, difficulty walking, and early-onset arthritis that would limit his mobility for life.
Sprout and Beanie each require 84 days of daily medication, followed by 84 days of monitoring and supportive care to make sure the treatment works and their little bodies can recover fully.
Frankie recently had surgery to correct his deformities and we’re hopeful it was successful and he will have a long, pain-free, normal life—running, climbing, and being the joyful kitten he deserves to be.
The Cost of Their Fight
• Bi-lateral MPL Corrective Surgery: $7200
• Medication for the full 84-day FIP protocol: $1,950
• Monthly bloodwork and monitoring: essential to ensure the treatment is working and safe: $850
For a small rescue organization caring for multiple animals, this cost is overwhelming. But giving up Frankie, Sprout and Beanie is simply not an option. With your help we can give them the chance to grow up healthy and strong!
Why Your Help Matters
These fighters are still just babies. They haven’t even had their first birthday, and they are already facing sickness and a painful orthopedic condition. Your support—whether it’s donating, sharing their story, or sending love—brings them one step closer to the life every kitten should have.
How Funds Will Be Used
• Bilateral MPL corrective surgery
• Pain management and medications
• Post-surgery follow-up appointments, imaging and rehab support
• FIP medication & clinical support
Every dollar truly makes a difference. Your support is greatly appreciated!
