Support Sedona's Surgery
Donation protected
As we approach Sedona's one-year gotcha day, we hit an unexpected turn.
Since before she was ours, Sedona had a tiny bump on her tail—harmless and never a concern. But recently, I noticed it had grown significantly. Though she didn't seem too bothered, I knew a vet visit was needed.
That night, my partner woke up to find her in pain, and when he touched her tail, she cried. Fearing the worst, we got her to the vet that morning. X-rays and a biopsy ruled out any deeper issues, and after days of waiting, we finally got our answer—a keratin cyst, likely benign.
We're incredibly relieved it's almost certainly not cancer, but the cyst needs to be removed to prevent future pain and injury. Removing it means Sedona can keep living her best, carefree life—without the risk of hurting her tail again.
What's Next:
We are scheduling Sedona for surgery at the beginning of April. Along with the removal, they will also send the mass away to be tested and be fully assured there is no malignancy.
From there, we will need to monitor her tail to ensure the cyst does not come back.
How can you help
Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us cover her surgery. We are so grateful for the friends and family who have already contributed directly.
Share: Spread the word about Sedona's story and this fundraiser.
Check: Remember to regularly check your dogs for bumps and lumps—especially if you don't go in for regular physicals with their vet. Noticing a change can make the difference.
*Any extra funds will be donated to Heidi's Village, the shelter that Sedona was rescued from.
