After nearly 5 months of couch surfing during a pandemic, I am finally able to secure safe and stable housing to ride out the rest of this storm. Unfortunately, as I am still unemployed thanks to the service & events industries being nearly wiped out, the initial moving costs are outside of the small budget I have left to pay for upcoming months of rent and bills while I continue to look for work.
Move-In cost includes the first and last months rent as well as a deposit equivalent to one month's rent - all totaling $2200.
As I am also without any furnishing or essential household items like towels/sheets/bedding, there will be many additional upfront costs that given my current financial standing will be difficult to bear in addition to the move-in.
I am very hesitant to ask for financial help in this matter as I am well aware of how many people are currently suffering through these uncertain times but sadly I am left with very little options for myself. Without secure housing, employment has been even more elusive as I do not have a vehicle which means I am limited to finding work within a certain physical distance from wherever I am residing. Moving into this space will not only provide me with some much-needed stability but will also open up further options for income.
I am so very grateful to anyone and everyone who has assisted me and others through this difficult year. I think if 2020 has taught us anything it is that we truly NEED one another to survive. Thank you for opening your heart and paying it forward. I will continue to do so whenever and however I can.
